last post!! Merry Christmas

Well this is the last post of this semester for me. I have just finished my video project and it was a lot more work than I imagined. The hardest part was getting the program to work for me. It would not work on my home machine and it crashed at least 10 times when I was working on it at school. The problem I was having was making it the right length. Originally it was suppose to be 90 sec but mine turned out be doubled I hope that Michael doesn't have a problem with that.

I am quite happy with the end product but like everything I think I could have done better.

Year End

For me the Year is over the only thing holding me back from graduating in this Video Project. this year has been interesting. New Media class was very interested as well. I loved first part of the semester were we learned about photoshop. I really wanted to learn how to use this program. I feel that my skills in photoshop have improved by huge amounts. In the future I think I will use this program a lot more. I am no longer intimidated in using this program. Dreamweaver, was the second program and honestly i still feel weak in using it. I think this class should really reduce the amount of programs taught. I am sure it is a useful program but I felt like the instruction was rushed because we not only had to learn this program we also had to learn Premier. Adobe Premier has been interesting. I am still having difficulties using it. The school is using a version of Premier that is so old it can even use new video formats like .AVI which have been out for years. this is really disappointing and has really slowed down my productivity.
i will continue to fight on and hopefully things will improve..

This program is killing me

We are currently working on Adobe Premier. I can honestly say that i hate this program. I do not hate what it does but I hate that it continues to crash on me. On my machine at home I have tried to install it 3 times and one time it was an older version. Every single time I start the program it has given me the Blue Screen Of Death. For the last 30Mins I have been working on it in the lab at school and it has crash 4 times.

I should mention that my machine at home is a Intel duo with 2 GB of ram 120GB of HD with 128MB video card. There should be no reason why it is crashing.

I hope I can get this project done on time.

NEXT

I finished my website and it was the hardest project by far. I had a difficult time determining the design. for this entire project its like my mind when blank. i honestly think my design was very bad. the only page i found acceptable was my home/index page. i hope i can increase my mark with video editing. i love shooting video. i do not own a video camera but i do own a digital camera that shoots low res video. and if u ask most people i enjoy doing video more than i do pictures. i think video is better at rekindling memories. i am looking forward to doing this project. i will also have more time to work on this project.

Web Design

Our next project is website design. I really wanted to improve my skills in web design. this is a good opportunity to learn new skills. I also like the idea of creating a resume online. it really give me more incentive to do a good job because i am likely to use the website in job application process. right now it seems that coming up with a theme and color scheme i am comfortable with. it is important to choose an appropriate theme because it is a resume and the idea is to sell yourself as a professional to an employer. This project is going to be something that is difficult not only in idea but also in design and composure

class projects

i really like looking at the class collages. there was so many creative pictures and many of them look very professional. i enjoyed doing this project. it took a lot more work than i expected. to find the images were very time consuming. i also had to think about the positioning of each image. if i were to just place them randomly it would really confuse others. The main reason for doing this was to rekindle my memory and hopefully others memory of their childhood.

Completed collage

this week i finished my Collage. this was one of those assignment i really enjoyed doing. it took a lot of repetition to do it but i really liked it. it also reminded me of my childhood. when i showed the collage to other it has the same effect they would remember watch those same cartoon when they were young. this is one of those project i am quite proud off and after i get the printed copy back i am surely going to frame it and keep it on my wall.

Collage week

For the last 7 days i have been trying to work in my collage. before taking this class i knew photoshop was a very complex program. i now know that it is not only complex it is also very time consuming. i had been working on the same design for about 10 days. right now i have a few reservations about my idea and if it up to the expected quality level of the class.

In today's class we talked about web design. the level of web design is quite high and looks like it will be a challenging project. i like the fact of having a online web resume. the only negative i have about of this project is that we will be personal information on the Internet. i like to be a little more discrete on the Internet.
